A New Kitty Poo Club litter box has arrived.

disposable kitty poo litter box

Kitty Poo Club litter box is here. Yes, today is the day and we are happy. Just in time, it is all about the little things.

I really do like it when the new box arrives..It makes this cat owner very happy. It is recyclable and easy. I consider myself pretty frugal and at $21.99 a box (shipping included) that is auto-delivered, effective, and eco-friendly it so very worth it. The family-owned business has grown a lot since I started using this product. They offer different varieties of Kitty Poo Club litter ( silica, clay, soy) and box domes. You can now also just be the litter. Their options have recently expanded to food toppers and food as well. Kitty Poo Club is more than just a monthly subscription litter box ! .

And who doesn’t like a clean potty ? Pizza does for sure.

Here is how it comes in the mail. It is ridiculously easy to open. You simply remove the tape from the lid ( which I use as a shield in the back of the box just in case.) Occasionally, Mr. Pizza misses the intended target. The box includes plastic bars to reinforce the side of the box. There is a perforated section to remove to make entering easier for the cat. The litter comes in a thick plastic bag. Dump the litter into the amazingly lined cardboard box that hasn’t leaked on me once. It may be magical but for me it’s practical.

The used litter can be disposed of in the trash and the cardboard litter box goes into the recycling. Quick and simple.

Kitty Poo Club offers gift cards too!

It is really convenient to have the little box shipped automatically. Additionally, Kitty Poo also offers food and treats that can be added to your order.

Helpful tips to find your pet if they get lost

lost pet wandering pet

There are several things you can do as soon as you notice your pet missing. Here are some tips to finding a lost cat or dog. You can go online and alert local neighborhood groups, post virtual flyers, if your pet is microchipped contact local veterinarians’ offices, and local shelter to see if your pet has been brought in. Try to stay calm and clear headed.

What to do FIRST if your pet gets lost

It is easy to get upset and panic. However, it isn’t very productive. Firstly , check your home and yard. A sick pet or hurt pet will try to hide. Rule out any new spots they may be hiding or sleeping in. If you are sure Fido or Fluffy is missing, time is of the essence.

No matter how careful we are sometimes accidents happen. Even happy well-loved pets have an adventurous streak. A door or a gate accidentally left open or a new hole in the fence can lead a happy wandering pet enjoying themselves to become a lost pet if they get out of the house or yard. Some dogs are runners.

Take a look around your neighborhood. A pet might be happily walking themselves along the usual course around the neighborhood. Especially dogs, they like to explore and run. If they are bored and escape they might literally run away far. You may need to search up to five miles from your home block by block.

Did your indoor cat venture out? Your cat may be scared and not know what to do. I recommend putting their litter box outside to help guide them home. I wish I had known about that trick when my old guy got out a few years ago. The following tips will help you in finding your lost dog or cat and get them back home safety.

Social Media

Some breeds are more likely to want to roam. I remember when I was about 7yo, a friend gave us a beagle puppy. She was so sweet and adorable and ridiculously smart. However, we were ignorant and it was the 70’s so we didn’t have the resources that we do today. She stayed with us for about a week, unfortunately, she escaped repeatedly and the last time she was lost for good. I like to think she just found a new family she liked better, or she went to go live on a farm. I will never really know. Today, it’s a different world, if your dog or cat gets out, don’t worry there are lots of resources to help find him.

If you are on social media, there is a multitude of ways to use social media to help look for your little family member. If you are on Facebook, you can search for lost pet groups in your neighborhood.

Paw Boost Facebook Los Angeles is a great place to start. They even offer a template for posters. Other options if you are not on Facebook  Nextdoor.com

Los Angeles Animal Services

Spreading the word as quickly as possible is so helpful for a safe swift return. As counterintuitive as it may seem to look online, remember sharing your story online gets to hundreds of friends and neighbors FAST. You never know who might see your post and spot your missing buddy wandering around town. Sometimes a tired dog hops willingly into cars of loving rescuers. Spreading the word of your lost pet through online resources is one of the easiest ways to get the word out if your pet has been taken off the streets. I have read many success stories and happy reunions, sometimes weeks after the incident. Mediators on these websites and Facebook groups can be reached quickly so approval of your post happens easily.

Lost Pet Posters

A good old fashioned Lost Pet poster is also useful. You will need a current picture of your missing furry family member and an accurate way for someone to get ahold of you.

Use Bright colored poster paper and indelible ink to make sure it is highly visible and the info doesn’t run if the weather turns. Posting around the neighborhood is good, especially on busy intersections or local store pet stores and veterinarian bulletin boards. (Make it easy for yourself to go back and remove the signs once Fido is home safe)

Local Shelters and Veterinarians

Quite often good caring citizens who have rescued a wandering pet, can’t care for them and take the lost pet to the shelter. You can check

Pet Harbor for newly dropped off pets.

However, sometimes it is more efficient to just go down and check for yourself. Imagine how relieved your pet would be if you found them at the shelter soon after being dropped off. It may have seemed like a good idea to go exploring, sadly, I’m sure it is a frightening and stressful experience to get lost, found, and turned into the shelter. The Pet Shelter is a busy loud, place sometimes it is quite possible it takes a day or so to get the information about a found pet on to the website.

If only a wandering pet who gets lost could talk, but they can’t. Therefore When an animal is dropped off the shelter or offices, they check for collars and especially microchips. Making sure your pet has updated identification is a foolproof way to ensure you get reunited.

In Conclusion

1.Check hiding places at home and around the yard

2.Notify resources online and social media

3.Look in your surrounding neighborhood

4.Check with local shelter and veterinarians

5.Put up Lost Pet posters

6.Don’t give up.

Owner and dog reunited after 7 years and 1000 miles apart.

Your lost pet, probably misses you as much as you miss him. When you are safely home together again, maybe you should update his tags I hope these tips for finding lost cat or dog are helpful.

Will Cat Calming Collars really work for stressed cats?

Do cat calming collars work for stressed cats? Pizza has volunteered to test this product out. O.K. ……… I volunteered him.

******* UPDATE ******

I like this product however, as the scent lessened so did the effectiveness. I do believe it helped for the first week and a half . Next month I will be reviewing another brand for comparison.

Why is he wearing a calming collar?

Most of the time Pizza is not very anxious. He is pretty laid back. However in the last few months, the household dog spends a lot more time with us in our space, and in response, Pizza has started taking morning naps in the closet. That tipped me off to a possible problem. Though he has no other symptoms, no change of appetite, lumps, or bumps, he usually claims his spot on the bed no matter who is in our bedroom so I thought I would try to see if this changed his mood.

Regardless, it makes sense, like most of the US this pandemic has stressed even the pets out as well. For ten years of his life, I was gone all the time at a job.……. In March 2019, I even went to Europe for three weeks leaving Pizza Cat behind ( In good hands of course) But now, We are home together a lot. Like all the time. And let’s face it, it is hard being around humans 24/7.

How do the Calming Collars Work ?

Cat Calming Collars work by using synthetic pheromones and essential oils to send a message of peace and relaxation to your animal. They made ones specifically for cats and dogs. This Calming Collar we are trying out is specifically for cats. It uses a blend of citronella, lavender, and hemp oil. It has a pleasant odor, that is not too strong. As a side note, the dog of the household does not agree and began barking once I put the collar on Pizza.

What are they used for ?

They are quite effective to relieve anxiety from change, loud noises like fireworks or drum practice, a new environment. They are designed to be worn for the entire 30 days.

Results so far from the experiement

Pizza doesn’t typically wear a collar, because he is an indoor-only cat and he is microchipped (Occasionally I do put his harness on but this is a new sensation)But for the next 30 days, he will be his rocking this bright green accessory. He seems to be adjusting and not complaining too much. He has scratched his calming collar, which is typical for a cat. This fur guy isn’t traumatized which would be counterproductive, and he still wants to sit on my lap. We are only entering day two, but I am checking for a reaction or skin irritation. Thus far all is good.

It is common for cats to sleep up to 16hours a day, so it’s hard to really tell if this is being effective. However, Pizza skipped out on his 5 min of morning vocalization at the door two days in a row! I am happy about that. He is currently passed out next to me, but still is giving himself time outs in the closet.

Lastly, this product is inexpensive and worth trying if your cat is anxious. I have tried cbd and although it also seemed to work it was much more difficult to administer. He didn’t like it in his food. With my schedule, it was hard to be consistent with it. A collar is easy to monitor and into day three of thirty is seems to be making a difference. However, all cats are different.

Overall it was worth the money, and since Pizza is a pretty big guy, so if you are having issues with an unhappy fur friend. I would consider giving this a try. Like a lot of holistic approaches, some things work better for others. Even Cats are individuals.

Looking for a new litter box solution?

Kitty Poo Club -An Honest Review.

Kitty Poo Club is a mail-order disposable litter box and it is definitely a product I can’t live without anymore. The litter boxes are environmentally friendly, easy to set up, and easy to dispose of. The litter goes in the trash and the cardboard can be recycled.

Admittedly, I’ll be honest, I don’t scoop as often as I should. Also, I have a pet peeve about litter boxes. They are plastic and quite frankly once you get the scent of urine in the plastic it doesn’t seem to go away, no matter how often you clean out the entire box.

On a whim, I did a search on disposable litter boxes. Kitty Poo Club offered a perfect solution to my problem. It is recyclable and easy to set up the box, that is auto-delivered. I consider myself pretty frugal and at $21.99 a litter box (shipping included) finding a solution that is effective, and eco-friendly, and delivered to me, is worth it.

Easy to use

Your cardboard litter box comes compact. With ingenious packaging, the box IS the box so there is no waste. The package folds open, to a bag of extra absorbent eco-friendly litter. It includes plastic sliders to stabilize the sides. (I use the lid as a shield as Pizza is long-legged and sometimes urinates higher than expected.) You can set your reorder for three or five weeks later, and the disposal process is just as easy. I make sure it’s empty of “treasures”, slide the plastic bars off and, add them to the box, close it up place the lid back on, and toss. The box is coated and leak proof. The actual litter can be disposed of and the cardboard box can be recycled.

Ready to be assembled

Different Litter Options Available

I have watched the company grow from one size litter to several options. In the beginning, silica was the only option. Today there is the original silica, but now fine-grain silica, clay, or even a soy option. (Personally, we switched to fine-grain once it was available. Pizza was tracking the silica around and despite my best efforts to stay on top of it, it was a little like stepping on a lego in the middle of the night, so we switched to the fine grain which is a little easier to sweep up. Today Kitty poo offers “catch-all mats”. In recent months Kitty poo club has expanded its selection to include domes that fit their boxes for the taller cats, also a selection of high-quality food and treats and food toppers. The company has grown considerably since we first started using their products.

I love the convenience of contactless auto-delivery. I was not a fan of purchasing heavy litter containers and unloading etc, Kitty Poo Club orders have always been on time, and I have never had a billing problem. They even have an option to go on vacation if you need to skip a month or two.

Lastly, Kitty Poo Club is a modern convenience and a time saver. A clean litter box makes for a happy cat. If you are looking for a new litter box solution for a new kitten or an older big kitty, check out Kitty poo for your litter box needs.

Why is my dog peeing in the house suddenly?

peeing in the house

When an adult dog has an accident after being house trained, there is usually an underlying reason. Your pet could be experiencing new stresses, excitement, fear, or a urinary infection. Whether it is a physical or emotional response it should be investigated, a quick resolution is a lot less pain and stress for the household.

Yikes! It looks like someone had an accident in the house again. It is always a surprise when an adult dog that suddenly starts peeing inside the house. If your dog is over 8mos, has been housebroken but is now having problems there can be several reasons. It is important to watch your furry friend and determine why your dog is peeing inside the house all of a sudden.

Possibilities for new accidents in the house

Change of environment– this alteration can cause extra nervousness together with the need to mark the surroundings. This behavior is carried out especially by males who want to make every corner of the house their own.

A Change in the household– Did a new family member move in? (or out ), Is there a new pet? This can shake up the routine and upset your dog until he gets used to the changes. Some people don’t like change, neither do some dogs. The good news it this is usually temporary and can be resolved with time and patience.

Attention- Sometimes dogs will urinate inside as a form of complaint. If they are spending excessive hours alone, without some love and attention, sometimes they look for ways to get noticed. Like small children, negative attention is better than no attention. With some redirections this can be corrected as well.

Not enough walks or walks at random times. This can’t always be avoided. However, in this case, the dog is not all guilty. Remember dogs need to relieve themselves at least three times a day. Routine is good, inconsistency is not.

Stress– Dogs can react to excitement or stress or fear by peeing. They can exhibit submissive peeing when afraid of unknown noises, or feeling intimidated.

Have you considered trying CBD Oil for anxiety ?

Does it require a vet visit ?

Unfortunately in some cases peeing in the house can also be a sign of illness. Sometimes it is as simple as a urinary tract infection, or an irritated bladder. However, it can also be the first sign of something more serious. If it becomes a constant unresolved issue it could mean you need to take Fido to the vet. A veterinarian may be able to offer more advice or insight into the issue. Age can also play a factor.

Are you sad your dog is getting older?

Ruling out illness, here are tips to get your dog to stop peeing inside.

It is best to re-establish a daily schedule in the morning, afternoon, and evening. Put your dog on a schedule to ensure he gets adequate time outside after he wakes in the morning and after he eats. Regular walks and positive reinforcement when your dog goes pee outside encourage good behavior. (It is no longer recommended to punish accidents by rubbing noses in messes. It instills fear and submission which can lead to continued fear-based urination accidents. Positive praise for good behavior is most effective.)

Add a few extra minutes of playtime into your schedule. Life is hectic. However, a few extra minutes spent with your best fur friend may be beneficial. Your dog misses you when you are gone. A solid ten or fifteen minutes a day of play, when you get home after a long day, would do you both good. If boredom or loneliness is the root of the accidents on the new carpet, this will help.

Leaving out entertaining toys for your furry friend may help keep them happy and stimulated while you are gone. Again sometimes a dog peeing in the house suddenly is a way they’re way of trying to tell you something like I’m sad and bored.

If your adult dog is newly adopted and was “housetrained’ before, it still takes an adjustment period in new surroundings. Additionally, we don’t know what life his former owners gave him, so patience, affection, and discipline are the fundamental ingredients for these furry ones. Sure, you need a little more time, but it will be worth the effort.

When behavioral changes don’t work, there are still options to stop sudden peeing in the house.

Using products to remove the stain and smell can deter your dog from peeing in the same spot. To remove stubborn stains and scents, I particularly like Rocco & Roxie Supply Professional Strength Stain and Odor Eliminator. It is highly effective in removing odor and stains. I also like that Rocco & Roxie is a small family-owned business its products are made in the USA. It is a great product for both dog OR cat problems.

Sadly in some instances such as territorial male dogs, neutering may be the best solution. In these cases, it is best to speak to your vet. It is not a guaranteed way to fix the issue, however, if Fido’s motivation is to mark his territory, this will help.

In conclusion, although it is alarming to have your dog start peeing suddenly in the house, there is usually a fairly easy way to fix it. Once medical reasons are ruled out, patience, consistency and some extra bonding time with your dog is the fastest and most efficient way to move past this issue.
